PROJECT ROCKING CHAIR
The 8:1:1 K-1 teacher at Severn School had two students who found it tough to sit still and often paced.. She borrowed a rocking chair from another school for a summer session . The chair allowed students appropriate movement while focusing on academic tasks. The Foundation was happy to fund the purchase of a chair for the classroom, helping students to succeed.

KEEP THE BEAT!
Winfield School students show off their Foundation funded heart monitors which they use every day in PE class. According to their PE teacher, the monitors “ guide students to being more physically active and achieving the CDC’s recommended 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity daily…Winfield Elementary strives to be healthy and strong while exercising in a safe target heart rate zone.”

MATH STACKERS
Kindergarteners at Carder School are learning all about numbers using Foundation-funded Math Stackers. Their teacher says, “We have been using them to identify numbers, count, compose and decompose numbers, practice one-to-one correspondence, and make fact families. These blocks provide a hands-on way to build and visually form partners 0-10.”

BROADENING MINDS THROUGH LITERATURE
These Kindergarteners are learning about many cultures and enjoying new Foundation-funded books that celebrate diversity and inclusion.

THERAPEUTIC MINATURE HORSE VISITS
Multiply disabled high school students enjoy specialized time with a therapeutic miniature horse. Benefits include stress reduction, increased socialization, enhanced communication, and help with motor, cognitive, and physical skills.

OZOBOT ART GALLERY
Fifth graders collaborated with their group to curate a gallery space for the Foundation-funded Ozobot. They worked to create a path for the Ozobot, communicating directions through the use of color coding. Each group member had at least two pieces showcased within the gallery space. Students were engaged, excited, and challenged to problem solve in creating their gallery and sending the Ozobot through it..
